Our Plants in the Landscape

Over the past ten years, our focus on growing 100% native trees and shrubs—combined with extensive experience in the landscape industry—has allowed us to partner with an ever-growing and forward looking segment of green-industry professionals.  Our valued clients include landscapers, garden centers, rewholesalers, municipalities, and both private and public institutions.  Our strengths of location, a nimble structure, and a broad, deep mix of specimen native trees in sizes that transplant well in the Mid-Atlantic allow our stock to make an instant impact.

Here are just a few highlights of customers and projects for which we have had the pleasure to be a resource.

The Davey Tree Expert Company relies on WHN to supply the majority of Arlington County, Virginia’s tree needs in coordination with EcoAction Arlington.  Our close proximity to the DC metropolitan area and exclusive focus on native trees allow tree stewards, county arborists, and other purchasing decision-makers to hand-tag around 500 trees each season.  These trees are then planted throughout Arlington County in parks, at residents’ homes and as street trees, enhancing and diversifying the tree canopy.  The result of this collaborative effort over several years has been spectacular.

Glenstone Museum utilizes WHN to enhance their mission to “…seamlessly integrate art, architecture, and nature into a serene and contemplative environment.”  We have partnered with both Brightview Landscapes and South Riding Nurseries for several years to supply native trees for their expansive three-hundred-acre grounds in Potomac, Maryland.

The Architect of the Capitol, Smithsonian Institution, and the US National Park Service regularly rely on WHN to provide native trees that are locally grown.  Several of our trees are prominently located on the Capitol grounds and on nearby Smithsonian properties including the recently-dedicated National Native American Veterans Memorial.

Working in close coordination with an affiliated company, KT Enterprises Inc, and award-winning planned communities throughout Northern Virginia, WHN trees can found providing shade and enhancing the environment in Broadlands, Brambleton, Kincora, Potomac Shores, Stone Ridge, Villages of Piedmont, Westmoore, and Willowsford.

In order to supply native trees year-round to the multitude of landscapers in Northern Virginia, we have also partnered with another affiliated company, South Riding Nurseries LLC (SRN).   SRN is an established rewholesaler of plants and landscaping products with an experienced team well-versed in our inventory and operations, allowing landscapers to access a broad and convenient selection of White House Natives material at any time.
