Before we being our spring dig, there are a number of winter chores we engage in to be sure you have a great finished product.   Over the next few weeks, we will highlight some of those processes.   In this photo set, we cover winter pruning.  Steps include:

  • Checking for girdling roots.
  • Checking for and removing basal suckers.
  • Limbing up.
  • Removing crossing branches.
  • Removing competing leaders.
