Before we being our spring dig, there are a number of winter chores we engage in to be sure you have a great finished product. Over the next few weeks, we will highlight some of those processes. In this photo set, we cover winter pruning. Steps include:
- Checking for girdling roots.
- Checking for and removing basal suckers.
- Limbing up.
- Removing crossing branches.
- Removing competing leaders.
